Summer '10
We are having a tremendous season so far. The holiday cottages are all busy with old friends and new faces to the estate.

In June we had two weddings and we send all of our congratulations to the happy couples. Both receptions were held in The Boathouse and produce from the walled garden featured on the wedding menus.
The weather has been exceptionally dry, with little rainfall during the past weeks. Care is required with the water consumption as all water supplies are from the hill. A very odd position to be in in the Highlands!
All of our ewes have had lambs and cows have calved, all are doing well.

Tito Bustillo ran at Ayr on Saturday 17th April in the Samsung Electronics Scottish Champion Hurdle Limited Handicap Grade 2 Race, although the race showed promise, he wasn't placed. We have decided to let me down now for a much deserved holiday over the Summer.
Timber harvesting has now finished and the floating pier is being taken away. Timber has been chipped for our new biomass community heating system which went live in mid April. Timber that went out by sea went to Fort William, Inverness and Ireland.
Kingairloch appeared on Three Hungry Boys, to view the episode click on
this link to 4od. The program aired on 6th March, and it showed the boys working on the estate in return for trout fishing on the lochan, vegetables from the garden and Sunday roast venison left overs!
Timber harvesting is well underway on the block close to Home Farm. Instead of transporting the timber by road we opted for a links-span to be put in place to allow for ships to come into Kingairloch to transport the timber away to sawmills.
At the same time plantation has begun of native species in a new forestry block around Coire Bahn and Coire Schalachain.
We have now finished the stalking season, venison is still available for purchase only from frozen stock.
